Sent four recommendations your way on GoodReads! I stayed within the fantasy/sci-fi/historical context. All excellent books and ones I've read more than once.

I'd love some suggestions! My tastes lean towards fantasy, historical fiction, and sci-fi, but then again I also enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada... so there you have it.

Could you recommend maybe four good reads... and I'll try to tackle them before Christmas? That would be awesome!

Thanks Hannah! I didn't know about Bookmarks - that's a great idea! I'll have to figure out a great list and submit it and see what happens.

Let me know if you would like any recommendations for good adult fiction. It is scary and a lot more hit and miss than YA is (YA fiction is just so..yummy and fun). There's some really interesting and fun adult books out there too though and so worth the dive.

Thanks for that last link, Lydia. I'll be bookmarking it. I also need to use Goodreads more often - I forget to update what I'm reading and write reviews!

Three years ago, I made a goal to read 10 books a month, and ended up reading closer to 20 books a month. I just couldn't stop! Lately, I find myself relaxing more on the computer than with a good book. Bad me. I think I'll set a goal again next year and plow through some good books. I need to step outside of my YA and classics comfort zones and enter into the world of modern adult fiction. It's a scary ocean and I'd rather just stay in my little pond!

If I do keep my goal, I'd like to blog through my books. You've inspired me with all of your great reviews. I like how you quickly get to the main point of the book, and describe what the author did or did not do well. It gives me a taste of whether or not I would like the book without giving away too much. You should write book reviews for magazines! Have you ever considered sending in a reader list for Bookmarks (the magazine)? I think you would make some great recommendations - my favorites are the lists centered around an uncommon theme. Be creative! Here's the info:

Reader Recommendations and Book Clubs

If you would like to be eligible for a free subscription, send us a list of your 10 favorite books, along with a short paragraph describing each book and why it's meaningful to you! Email your list to letters@bookmarksmagazine.com or send it to our Chapel Hill Editorial address below. Book clubs may send their profiles and photos to the same address.
